Cash for accepting parcels can end in a criminal record
West Yorkshire police say organised crime groups are using Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook to recruit students as parcel mules, paying them to take in packages that may hold drugs, prohibited weapons, stolen goods or criminal cash. The adverts promise work from home, easy money, no experience needed, £100 to £500 a week. Officers warn that not knowing what is in a parcel may not protect you from investigation, and charges can run to handling stolen goods or money laundering.
