Graduate earnings, by subject and institution
The longitudinal education outcomes statistics — what graduates actually earn, by course and university, years after finishing — have been published. These are the figures behind every claim about low-value degrees and every ranking by salary, and they are more useful read directly than summarised: the variation within a subject is usually larger than the variation between subjects. Graduate jobs in the UK covers what they do and do not tell you.
Staff warn of overcrowding as an intake overshoots
Higher-than-expected undergraduate enrolments are putting pressure on teaching space and timetabling at Warwick, staff say. Over-recruitment is the other side of this year’s financial pressure: universities that hit target hard find themselves teaching more students in the same rooms, which students experience as full seminars and unbookable space.
Withdrawals up to the end of May
The Student Loans Company has updated its count of students who left their courses this year. It is the quiet statistic of the academic year and the only national one: leaving is common, it is recorded monthly, and telling your university before you go is what protects your funding position if you return.
