10/1/26: the UK is rejoining Erasmus+ from 2027

Erasmus+ returns for UK students in 2027

UK and EU negotiators have agreed that the UK will rejoin Erasmus+, the European student exchange programme, from 2027. It replaces the narrower Turing scheme for European destinations, and it matters most to anyone choosing a course now: a degree with a year abroad starting in 2027 or later could once again place you at a European university with fees covered and a grant attached. The year abroad covers how these placements work.
