can't believe there are women on this post trying to say women's healthcare is prioritised. imagine so openly being wrong about your own sex. women are never prioritised, not least in healthcare. there's been more research into male pattern baldness than there has incurable diseases like endometriosis. viagara has faced faster approval and more funding than BIRTH CONTROL. even men's vanity is prioritised over women's health. give your head a wobble

advice for freshers week from a knackered second year:

-clubbing is f*****g dirty and sweaty, set ur makeup twice and take a fan into the clubs or lcr TRUST ME drunk you will thank yourself
-people push hard in the lcr or any dance floor, don’t take it personally and keep ur mouth shut, people that push usually don’t like to hear that they’re blocking your view or squishing you just go w the flow of everyone else and you’ll have sm more fun
-pls for the love of god keep ur lanyard or keys safe, zip it in a pocket somewhere and don’t touch it til ur at your door - same with ids!!
-do not drink more just because you’re out if you’re at a good level of drunk, learn ur limits and when to get a cup of water
-please please take the p**s, go to all the nights and say yes to everything, freshers week flies by
-be safe, don’t trust men, welcome to UEA 💕💕

I remember a while ago there was a post implying women shouldn’t support men’s mental health charities because it won’t benefit them. Recently I’ve witnessed the aftermath of suicide in my family and I can tell you men’s mental health does affect women.

After every suicide there is a mother whose world has just been torn upside down. After most suicides there is a sister devastated that a pillar of her world has been shattered. There’s often a grandma who can no longer be comforted in a world of constant loneliness. Even more there’s nieces, girlfriends, wife’s, daughters etc. whose worlds are changed forever.

I understand the frustration with the amount of problems that are in this world but you need to think deeper about just the effect some problems have in this world. You don’t need to go out of your way to support something but should never go through the effort to discourage others from supporting causes they believe in.

I graduated in 2022 and used to love this page, but time passes and the things you love change. Perhaps I was clinging on to the nostalgia? But I realise 4 years on from graduating the "confessions" on this page seem like the complaints of children running to their parents to tell them something trivial. It's the same type of feeling as when you look back at being in year 11 and realise how young you were but at the time, you felt like you were all grown up.

The last thing I'd like to leave is a note on degree classifications. People say degrees are a tool - they are. But you have to know how to use a tool in order for it to work regardless of the quality.

I know people from my time in uni with firsts and masters and people who barley scraped by and they are all doing equally well. I also know people who didn't go to uni, they don't have £60k or so in debt and are higher earners than anyone I know with a degree.

Stop worrying, try your best and drink every second in beacuse before you know it, you'll have gone from being dropped off at your accommodation on your first day, to graduation in the blink of an eye and would do anything to go back to being an intimidated fresher. I speak from experience.

I HATE that the uni is so pro Ai; using it to write everything, down to exam questions. They’re also anti AI when it comes to writing your work, I get so much anxiety thinking I’ll get flagged for it knowing I haven’t used it

TW: suicide

A year and a half ago I told my friends and family that I was actively suicidal, with a method, location and motivation to, all explained. The motivation was explained and everyone understood why what was motivating me was doing so. They didn’t support, but they understood why I’d want to escape my situation.

Cut to 18 months later, my situation hasn’t changed, and I still carry on my person every my “way out” ready to go at any point, should my situation call for it.

In 18 months not 1 of my friends or family have made the effort to travel to Norwich to see me. Not 1, despite repeated requests and their full knowledge of my situation.

What I’ve learned. No one cares, at least not enough to make the effort to come see me. No one. This is why men don’t talk about our mental health. When we do, or at least when I have, nothing. No one comes, no one calls. 1 man kill’s himself every minute worldwide. In the uk 80% of suicides are men. What is the point in us talking about it to someone if we’re met with…..nothing, like I have been. We need to do better, for anyone going through this.🖤

Last academic year I was with a Chinese international student girl. Anyway she told me she was pregnant in June then moved back to China this summer. Whatdatmean? My friend said some problems just solve themselves but I’m just wondering if I’m still responsible if she blocked me on everything and moved to another country. Might not even be mine who knows. Shout out to my little half Irish half Chinese baby out there.

Buzzballs are DISGUSTING and I'm convinced people are just pretending to like them because they're popular. -a 2nd year who got all 2:1s, but a 3rd dragged whole grade down bc I was soo unwell for months.


Worked my ass off when I was healthy enough to do so, but one module and one 3rd and my whole grade changed.

Who cares anyway? We're all needing with a degree and life skills from uni!!
