not to the buck the trend but I love snow. modern accommodation, I can shit in peace, our bar isn't cramped and feral unlike the bailey and is great for events like karaoke, we have mega talented college sports and societies especially dance. I like the chill atmosphere and the breathing space! with so much going on like food vans, free yoga, a great modern gym etc. I feel like snow is what you make of it!

2 college family buffets, a formal almost every week, the welfare commenting supportive paragraphs on almost every snowfess that mentions any sort of welfare issue. And all of that was literally just in the first term…I’m really not sure what else you expect the college to do. 😐

what JSCFS achieved this year simply shouldn’t be possible for a college show. From the choreo, to the music, production, media and models, it’s simply unrecognisable as the casual college show it used to be. Congratulations to everyone involved, the dedication to the charity, alongside the artistry of the show and the atmosphere of a college event was brilliant. Long live jscfs as the best night of the college calendar.

I love John Snow, but £75 out of pocket barely a week in advance is really unfair on the poorer students. Why can’t we be like other colleges which gives discounts to students who get the Durham grant? Or maybe just do Ents tickets for our Summer Ball? Really don’t want to miss out but the fact is I can’t afford it

Men’s Football (hate that they rank this high but they did pretty good)
The Boat Club (above college sport, compete on a whole different level)
Women’s Football (girls breaking boundaries and all that)

Silver Tier:
Lacrosse (seem a fun bunch)
Cricket/ Rounders (who doesn’t love summer?)

Shit Tier:
Men’s rugby (as shit as they are in bed)
Men’s Hockey (too weak to be rugby players)
Women’s hockey and netball (fit but bitchy)
Basketball, Badminton, Tennis, Squash, Futsal, Volley Ball, Frisbee (no one cares about you)

Even Shitter Tier:

Everyone moans about the JCR but fair play to them for Snow day because it was really good.

i find it sad and frustrating that every year Snow raises thousands of pounds for movember, and yet (from what i can tell) we have yet to raise a single penny for any other group … the most we do for international women’s day is a couple of Instagram posts. and yet every year women’s societies and teams are expected to organise and raise money for a male oriented charity. a perfect example of the mental load falling on women yet again. don’t misinterpret this, i think movember is a wonderful charity and it’s great that we raise money for it, however how about we raise money for the actual marginalised groups? e.g. UNICEF, Stonewall, YoungMinds, BLM, Mind, Women’s aid, Oxfam, Red Cross. even if i missed it, and we have raised money for one of these charities, it will still be significantly less than we have ever raised for movember
