Caught between two statuses, entitled to neither properly
A researcher sets out the position doctoral candidates occupy: treated as students for fees, funding and support, and as staff for teaching, laboratory work and supervision duties — with the protections of neither. £72,000 raised, and 550km still to cycle
Medical students from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ are cycling 550km for cancer research, having raised more than £72,000. Medical school fundraising events are among the largest student-run charity efforts in the country, and they recruit non-cyclists for logistics, publicity and support. Volunteering and RAG covers joining one.
